Star Wars Galactic Racer Split Screen: Is Local Play In?

Quick Answer

No, the available launch information says Star Wars Galactic Racer does not have local split-screen multiplayer. Online racing is supported, but couch head-to-head play is not part of the launch feature set.

Does Galactic Racer have split screen?

No. The clearest sourced article says split-screen multiplayer was not included and frames it as a technical trade-off by Fuse Games.

This is important because older Star Wars racing memories are closely tied to local multiplayer. Galactic Racer revives the racing fantasy, but not the same couch-play feature set.

Why is split screen missing?

The available developer explanation says local split screen was a technical compromise the team did not want to make while targeting the intended large-screen visual experience.

For buyers, the practical answer matters more than the reasoning: if you need two players on one screen, this is not the mode you are looking for.

What multiplayer exists instead?

The online options described in the launch material include:

• online races with up to 12 players;
• Multiplayer Tour structure across rounds and planets;
• online pod races with eight players.

Could split screen be added later?

There is no reliable confirmation in the provided material that split screen will be added later. Treat it as absent unless an official patch note or developer statement says otherwise.
